The South Side may be getting some new housing.
The city is auctioning off the city’s historic buildings and condos for a new building for its residents.
The property includes the old Biltmore Hotel, the Biltons, the Daughters of Charity Church, and the Coney Island amusement park.
The new building is set to open next month.
Chicagoans will get to see what they paid for when the building goes up on the South Side.
The City Council approved the purchase for $2.7 million in August.
The site is near the site of the original Daughters’ Hotel and the former site of a former Daughters Hospital.
The old Daughters building, however, has never been occupied.
A lot of the old buildings are boarded up, but there’s also lots of old and new space.
We’re going to be able to look at a lot of what’s been here for a long time.
The building is owned by the city and will be managed by a nonprofit organization.
It’s owned by a group of local residents who are trying to restore some of the historic buildings that have fallen into disrepair over the years.
The Daughters also owns a former Biltmans nightclub.
